Who Doesn't Like Cake?

A 21'st B-Day Ice Cream Cake

Apparently there are people out there who do not like cake! And for all of those I have created incredibly awesome ice cream cakes! Seriously this thing was loaded with calories but worth every bite! An ice cream sandwich exterior crust, and a bottom crust made from oreos. I layered this bad boy with mint chocolate chip ice cream, vanilla ice cream and swirled in caramel and oreos, then some chocolate covered strawberry ice cream, and topped with whipped cream, oreos, and strawberries! Sinfully Decadent!

Aussie Aussie Aussie

A Cake Down Under!

So I was approached by a company looking for a farewell cake for a manager moving on to do a special project in Australia. They asked me if I could do a cake and to take total creative control. I was super excited about this. I decided to go with a two tiered cake that resembled the Australian flag. When you think of Australia one of the first images in your head is Kangaroos and Koalas, so the idea for the topper was immediately a Koala for me. Coincidentally I used the mold for Elmo to make the Koala bear. Then I finished it off with some real bamboo to make it look more natural and the Koala was actually holding a Eucalyptus leaf in his paws too. The cake itself was chocolate and vanilla with butter cream frosting, fondant, and sugar paper for the stripes.

Is that a Cake or a Barbie Doll?

Pink is for Barbie!

So I had someone come to me and say, could you do a cake for my daughters 8th Birthday, she loves pink and princesses. I was like ok, this is new for me having a son but I will take on the challenge.  I found an awesome mold for a base that looks like a dress and went with Barbie. The cake is yellow, with a chocolate cream filling, and a homemade fondant I draped over the cake to look like a gown. The detail work was done with candied pears and butter cream frosting. It required tweezers and a lot of patience. In the end I was happy but more importantly we had a very thrilled 8 year old girl!

Totally 80's!

A cake for an 80's Baby!

So I was approached by a friend with an idea to do a cake for an 80's themed Birthday. I loved this and we had tons of ideas for this cake. In the end we decided since it was for a lady we would go the route of purples and good old Zebra stripes. The cake was white with a homemade strawberry filling, buttercream frosting, and my fondant.

Cake Pop Phase

Hooray for Cake Pops!

So I was introduced to Cake Pops way back before Starbucks was doing them from an artistic photographer friend of mine! Had a blast making these! The cake pop themselves are very easy to make but the details are very challenging and take a lot of time. All of them can be any flavor you want and designed accordingly. As you can see I did some robots for my sons 3rd birthday party. There are some cupcake cake pops for another birthday. Then I did the little chicks and easter eggs in an Easter Basket for Easter. I had a request for a birthday for a gentleman who loves the Denver Nuggets so I did basketballs and then cake pops the colors of the nuggets. The last group were bears that I did for Valentine's Day which were probably the most challenging ones!

40th Birthday

40th Bday

I was asked to make a 40th Bday Cake for a colleague at work. Her favorite colors were shades of green. We had two tiers one chocolate and one white cake both with buttercream frosting and my signature fondant. I topped it the day of delivery with fresh green and white gerber daisies.

My personal Favorite and what feels like my Masterpiece!

The Elmo Cake

So this was my first tiered cake and it was for my sons 2nd Birthday. He was going through an Elmo phase so we went with a Sesame Street theme with an Elmo topper. Each tier also has a theme so the first one is the alphabet, the second colors, and the third numbers. Every tier also has a different flavor cake with a buttercream frosting. The outside is a homemade fondant. The fondant is my own recipe and it is delicious however very hard to work with. This was by far my favorite cake.
